TRADE: Giants Trade DT Damon Harrison To Lions For 5th-Rd Pick

Adam Schefter reports that the Giants are trading DT Damon Harrison to the Lions on Wednesday for a fifth-round pick.

This is the second trade for the Giants in as many days after the traded CB Eli Apple away to the Saints.

Reports from last night mentioned that more deals were expected from the Giants and that teams had shown interest in CB Janoris Jenkins, so that’s also something worth keeping an eye on.

Harrison, 29, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn back in 2012. He spent four years with the Jets before departing in free agency for a five-year, $46.25 million contract that included  $24 million guaranteed with the Giants.

Harrison stands to make base salaries of $7.75 million and $6.75 million over the next two years.

In 2018, Harrison appeared in seven games for the Giants and recorded 31 tackles, no sacks and a forced fumble.
