According to Jason La Canfora, a market is definitely forming for Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs and there’s a “very real possibility” he is not back in Baltimore next season.
La Canfora previously reported that the Ravens extended Suggs a contract offer at the Combine. However, La Canfora mentioned that no deal is close at this time and the two parties are expected to remain in touch.
Reports have said for some time now that the two sides have mutual interest in Suggs returning to Baltimore, so it it would be surprising if they’re able to get a deal done.
Suggs, 36, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2003. He played out the final year of his five-year, $28.5 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season.
Suggs will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.
In 2018, Suggs appeared in 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 34 tackles, seven sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery returned for a touchdown and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 40 edge rusher out of 107 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
