Veteran DT Terrance Knighton Retiring From NFL

Adam Schefter reports that veteran DTย Terrance Knighton is retiring from the NFL after eightย seasons and plans toย pursue a career in coaching.

Knighton, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2009. He spent four years in Jacksonville before signing on with the Broncos as an unrestricted free agent in 2013.

Knighton would later sign a one-year, $2.05 million contract with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent last March but was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason.

In 2015, Knighton appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and totaled 29 tackles and 1.5 sacks.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 defensive tackleย out of 70 qualifying players.

For his career, Knighton recorded 159 tackles, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, two recoveries, two interceptions and 10 pass defenses over the course of 108 games.
