Veteran LB James Laurinaitis Retiring From NFL

Veteran LB James Laurinaitis announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.

Laurinaitis, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Rams back in 2009. He spent seven years with the Rams before he was released in February of last year.

Laurinaitis would go on to sign a three-year, $8.25 million contract with the Saints a month later, but was, unfortunately, placed on injured reserve during the season with a quad injury. New Orleans later cut him loose  after he was medically cleared.

For his career, Laurinaitis recorded 663 tackles, 16.5 sacks, 10 interceptions, 34 pass defenses, one forced fumble, nine recoveries and a safety over the course of 118 games.
