Veteran TE Niles Paul announced via his Instagram account on Tuesday that he’s retiring from the NFL.
Paul, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2011. He finished a three-year, $6 million contract with the Redskins before agreeing to a two-year, $8.75 million deal with the Jaguars last year.
However, Jacksonville cut Paul loose during the season and it later signed on with the 49ers. Unfortunately, San Francisco elected to cut him loose a few weeks ago.
For his career, Paul appeared in 88 games over the course of right seasons and caught 78 passes for 954 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
