The Minnesota Vikings officially claimed LB Ryan Connelly off of waivers from the Giants on Sunday.
Connelly, 24, was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round out of Wisconsin in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $2.9 million and will make a base salary of $585,000 for the 2020 season.
The Giants somewhat surprisingly opted to waived Connelly on Saturday. He is coming off of a torn ACL.
In 2019, Connelly appeared in four games for the Giants and recorded 20 total tackles, one sack, two interceptions and two pass defenses. He was Pro Football Focus’ 46th-ranked linebacker out of 77 qualifying players through Week 4.
