Vikings Concerned About WR Percy Harvin?

Tom Pelissero of  ESPN 1500 Twin Cities writes that “questions persist within the [Minnesota Vikings] organization” regarding WR Percy Harvin‘s reliability and off the field behavior.

Pelissero mentions that Harvin’s injury history is the obvious concern but adds that he has displayed some “troubling” and “manipulative” behavior in the past.

Earlier in the week, Harvin tweeted that he’ll undergo surgery on his shoulder but since then, reports have suggested that the surgery could be delayed.

Harvin, 24, will be free agent following the 2013 season and is in a good position to land a fairly decent contract on the open market. Minnesota will have to decide if he’s worth committing to in the long run, given the before-mentioned concerns. His overall ability is certainly not in question here but signing him to a long-term deal isn’t as much of a no-brainer as it once seemed.
