McDermott, 27, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA back in 2013. San Francisco wound up waiving him coming out of the preseason and he signed on with the Broncos’ practice squad shortly after.

Denver decided to release him after a week and he caught on with the Ravens for the rest of the 2014 season before signing a two-year contract with the Vikings.

Minnesota then signed him to a five-year extension through 2020. He is currently in the second year of a five-year, $4.675 million contract and is set to earn a base salary of $775,000 this year to go along with another $790,000 in 2018.

In 2017, McDermott appeared in 15 games for the Vikings.
