Vikings Rookie Anthony Barr Undergoing Knee Surgery, Done For Season

The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that rookie OLB Anthony Barr will undergo knee surgery and miss the team’s final two games of the 2014 season.

Barr has missed the last two games due to his knee injury, so this really isn’t all that surprising given that Minnesota is no longer playing for a playoff spot.

The Vikings used the No. 9 overall pick on Barr back in May and he has put together an impressive rookie campaign.

This season, Barr has recorded 70 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, three recoveries and even scored a defensive touchdown over the course of 12 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 8 outside linebacker in a 4-3 defense out of 39 qualifying players.
