Washington will still need to make another move to free space for Badet. The team is releasing TE Hale Hentges to make room for TE Temarrick Hemingway, who signed last night, according to Ben Standig.
Here’s Washington’s current practice squad:
- DT David Bada (International)
- DE Jordan Brailford
- WR Tony Brown
- CB Aaron Colvin
- G Joshua Garnett
- QB Steven Montez
- LB Jared Norris
- DE Nate Orchard
- LB Donald Payne
- C Ross Pierschbacher
- S Jeremy Reaves
- WR Cam Sims
- CB Cole Luke
- WR Shelton Gibson
- OL David Steinmetz
- K Brett Maher
- TE Temarrick Hemingway
- WR Jeff Badet
Badet, 26, wound up going undrafted out of Oklahoma in 2018. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Vikings, but was waived coming out of the preseason.
Minnesota re-signed Badet to their practice squad and brought him back on a futures contract last January. However, he was, once again, among their roster cuts at the start of the regular season.
Badet has had a number of workouts since then but this is the first time he’s signed with a team since last year.
During his college career at Kentucky and Oklahoma, Badet caught 108 passes for 1,785 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 46 games. He also totaled 657 kick return yards on 30 attempts.
