The San Diego Chargers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB James Burgess to their practice squad and waived WR Kevin Norwood.
The Chargersโ practice squad now consists of:
- LB James Burgess
- LB Deon King
- OT Brett Boyko
- S Adrian McDonald
- WR Dom Williams
- TE Jake McGee
- WR Isaiah Burse
- RB Andre Williams
- NT Ryan Carrethers
- DB Trovon Reed
Norwood, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2014. He was traded to the Panthers at the start of last season for a 2017 conditional seventh-round pick after Carolina lost Kelvin Benjamin for the season, due to a torn ACL.
The Panthers placed him on injured reserve coming out of the preseason and waived himย over a month ago. He signed on with the Chargers a few weeks later.
Norwood was in the third year of his four-year, $2,640,108 rookie contract and was set to make base salaries of $600,000, andย $690,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2015,ย Norwood was active for just one gameย but did not catch a single pass.
