Seth Walder reports that the Giants have expressed interest in free agent OT Menelik Watson, but the two parties have just had “preliminary talks” so far.
Mike Klis of 9 News previously reported that the Broncos are among the teams that have expressed interest in Watson. However, the Raiders were reportedly still trying to re-sign him.
Watson, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2013. He played the final year of his four-year, $4.15 million rookie contract and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.
In 2016, Watson appeared in 10 games for the Raiders and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 56 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
