Jets Place G Brian Winters On IR, Promote DL Deon Simon

The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they’ve placed G Brian Winters on injured reserve and promoted DL Deon Simon to their active roster.

  • The Jets also signed DL Francis Kallon to their practice squad.

The Jets’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Ben Braden
  2. CB Terrell Sinkfield
  3. WR Damore’ea Stringfellow
  4. DE Claude Pelon (Injured)
  5. WR Jalin Marshall
  6. WR Lucky Whitehead
  7. WR Tre McBride (Injured)
  8. RB Jeremy Langford
  9. QB Joel Stave
  10. RB Jahad Thomas
  11. OT Korren Kirven
  12. DL Francis Kallon

Winters, 26, is a former third-round pick by the Jets in the 2013 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $29 million contract with the Jets last year that included $15 million guaranteed.

Winters stands to make base salaries of $7 million and $6 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Winters appeared in 13 games for the Jets and is rated by ProFootballFocus as the No. 76 guard out of 80qualifying players.
