The New York Jets officially placed TE Braedon Bowman on waivers Tuesday.
This move officially frees up a roster spot for DE Sheldon Richardson, who has been activated from the reserve/suspended list.
Bowman, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of South Alabama back in May. He was unfortunately cut loose by the Jaguars, as they got their roster down to 53 players.
However, the Jets elected to claim him off of waivers the following day.
Bowman wound up being inactive this past weekend.
During his college career at South Alabama, Bowman caught 29 passes for 381 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
