The Panthers claimed DT Drake Nevis off of waivers from the Jaguars on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions release.
Carolina has made a conscious effort to bolster their defensive line recent years, so Nevis may have a tough time making the team’s final 53-man roster.
Nevis, 25, was taken by the Colts in the third-round of the 2011 draft class. He spent two years with the Colts before being cut loose and bouncing around with the Chargers, Cowboys and Jaguars last year.
Last season, Nevis appeared in 12 games and totaled all 11 tackles during this time.
