Redskins G Jonathan Cooper Out For Season With Torn Bicep

Redskins HC Jay Gruden told reporters after Mondayโ€™s game that G Jonathan Cooper is out for the season with a torn bicep tendon.

The Redskins also lost starting QB Colt McCoy for the remainder of the year with a fractured fibula.

You can expect the Redskins to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Cooper, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. The Cardinals traded him to the Patriots as part of the Chandler Jonesโ€™ trade, but New England declined to pick up his fifth-year option and later cut him loose in 2016.

The Browns later claimed him off of waivers from New England but he lasted just a few months in Cleveland. After one year with the Cowboys, Cooper signed on with the 49ers but was unfortunately released coming out of the preseason.

The Redskins signed Cooper to a contract last month.

In 2018, Cooper appeared in three games for the Redskins.
