Redskins G Jonathan Cooper Out For Season With Torn Bicep

Redskins HC Jay Gruden told reporters after Monday’s game that G Jonathan Cooper is out for the season with a torn bicep tendon.

The Redskins also lost starting QB Colt McCoy for the remainder of the year with a fractured fibula.

You can expect the Redskins to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Cooper, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. The Cardinals traded him to the Patriots as part of the Chandler Jones’ trade, but New England declined to pick up his fifth-year option and later cut him loose in 2016.

The Browns later claimed him off of waivers from New England but he lasted just a few months in Cleveland. After one year with the Cowboys, Cooper signed on with the 49ers but was unfortunately released coming out of the preseason.

The Redskins signed Cooper to a contract last month.

In 2018, Cooper appeared in three games for the Redskins.
