Redskins Likely To Work Out Kickers This Week With Dustin Hopkins Dealing With Hip Injury

Redskins HC Jay Gruden told reporters that theyโ€™re likely to work out some free agent kickers this week with K Dustin Hopkins dealing with a hip issue.

The best available kickers include Dan Carpenter, Roberto Aguayo, Cairo Santos, Josh Lambo, Younghoe Koo, Andrew Franks and Mike Nugent.

Hopkins, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bills back in 2013. He lasted just over a year in Buffalo before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later signed to the Saintsโ€™ practice squad.

The Redskins would sign him to a contract in 2015 and heโ€™s been with the team ever since.

In 2017, Hopkins has appeared in five games and converted 9 of 11 field goal attempts (81.8 percent) to go along with 12 of 13 extra point tries (92.3 percent).

Weโ€™ll have more regarding which kickers are working out for the Redskins as the news is available.
