Seahawks Signing QB Paxton Lynch To Futures Deal

The Seattle Seahawks are signing former Broncos QB Paxton Lynch to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Thursday, according to Ian Furness.

As of now, the Seahawks have signed 12 players to futures deals including:

  1. WR Caleb Scott
  2. G Jordan Roos
  3. DB Justin Currie
  4. DB Jeremy Boykins
  5. TE Tyrone Swoopes
  6. WR Keenan Reynolds
  7. DB Simeon Thomas
  8. C Marcus Henry
  9. DB Marwin Evans
  10. K Sam Ficken
  11. DT Jamie Meder
  12. QB Paxton Lynch

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Lynch, 24, was taken with the No. 26 overall pick after the Broncos traded up from No. 31 overall to get him in 2016 NFL Draft. Lynch signed a four-year, $9.4 million contract that includes $7.88 guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $1.31 million in 2018 when the Broncos waived him coming out of the preseason.

During the year, Lynch worked out for several teams including the Packers, Titans, Seahawks, JaguarsBills, Lions, Eagles, Buccaneers, Dolphins and Redskins. 

In 2017, Lynch appeared in two games for the Broncos and completed 66.7 percent of his passes to go along with two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 30 yards.
