NFL Rumors: Draft, Giants, Patriots, & Seahawks

Draft

• Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott said his initial informal interviews at combine included: the Ravens, Raiders, Jaguars, 49ers and several others. (Chase Goodbread)
• Arkansas TE Hunter Henry told ESPN’s Vaughn McClure that he met with Falcons TE coach Wade Harman last night.
• The Bears have scheduled a formal interview with Arkansas TE Hunter Henry. (Adam Jahns)
• Patrick Finley reports that the Bears talked to Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg and NC State QB Jacoby Brissett on Wednesday.

Giants

• Giants GM Jerry Reese said of their plans for free agency: “We have a little bit of money to spend this time and we’ll try to spend it wisely.’‘ (Paul Schwartz)
• Regarding Jason Pierre-Paul, Reese said: “I think it’s a miracle he was able to walk out there and play eight games for us.” (Dan Graziano)

Patriots

• Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots are “methodically gearing up” for contract talks with a number of players.
• However, the team has yet to engage in discussions with LB Dont’a Hightower, LB Jamie Collins or DE Chandler Jones, all of whom will be entering the final year of their contracts.
• Howe adds that New England hasn’t approached WR Danny Amendola, WR Brandon LaFell or OL Marcus Cannon regarding pay cuts up to this point.

Seahawks

• Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said that RB Marshawn Lynch’s retirement plans were “in the works” and added that “he had a tremendous run with us.” (Around the NFL)
• Regarding Thomas Rawls, Carroll said he’s going to get “great shot” at taking over for Lynch as their No. 1 running back. (Around the NFL)
