Troy Renck of the Denver Postย writesย that the Broncos have made free agent DLย Malik Jackson an offer of around $11 million per yearย to return to Denver.
However, he’s reportedly seekingย $14 million to $15 million per season with a guarantees that would top Chargers DLย Cory Liuget’s $30.477 million.
According to Renck, the Jaguars are considered the favorite to sign Jackson, due to the amount of cap space they have to work with. However, the Bears and Raiders are also seen as potential fits for him.
Some consider Jackson to be the best available player in this year’s free market, so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities that he could secureย $14 million to $15 million annually in his next contract.
Jackson, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2012. He’s played out his four-year, $2,313,612 rookie contract and is in line to beย unrestricted free agent in the coming days.
In 2015, Jackson appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 46 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, seven pass defenses and a safety.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9ย defensive end in a 3-4 defenseย out of 57ย qualifying players.
We haveย him featuredย in ourย Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
