49ers HC Kyle Shahanan announced Thursday that they’re activating TE George Kittle from injured reserve and expect him to play against the Cardinals in Week 16, per Nick Wagoner.
Kittle worked his way back from a foot fracture he suffered a few months ago.
Kittle, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the 49ers out of Iowa back in 2017. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2.69 million contract and set to make a base salary of $735,000 in 2020 when he agreed to a new five-year, $75 million extension with the 49ers this past August.
In 2020, Kittle has appeared in six games for the 49ers and caught 37 passes for 474 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He’s also rushed twice for 17 yards.
