49ers DB Jimmie Ward suffered a broken forearm during Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers, according to Keiana Martin.
This injury will end Ward’s 2018 season and lead to him being placed on injured reserve.
Ward, 27, was taken with the No. 30 overall pick back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7.112 million contract when the 49ers picked up Ward’s fifth-year option for the 2018 season.
Ward will make a salary of $8.526 million in 2018 before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.
Entering today’s game, Ward had appeared in eight games and recorded 32 tackles, no interceptions, and a forced fumble recovery.
