The San Francisco 49ers announced Thursday that they’ve officially declined their 2019 option on WR Pierre Garcon and exercised options on FB Kyle Juszczyk, DL Cassius Marsh, LB Dekoda Watson and CB K’Waun Williams.
The 49ers also tendered a contract to RFA RB Raheem Mostert and exclusive rights free agents LB Elijah Lee and DB Greg Mabin.
Garcon actually came up as a possible trade candidate before this year’s deadline, but the 49ers ultimately elected to hold on to him.
Garcon, 32, is a former sixth-round pick of the Colts back in 2008. He played four seasons for the Colts before joining the Redskins in 2012.
The 49ers signed Garcon to a five-year, $47.5 million contract that included $17 million guaranteed last year. He stands to make base salaries of $6.62 million and $5.6 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Garcon appeared in eight games for the 49ers and caught 24 passes for 286 yards receiving and one touchdown.
