Matt Maiocco of NBC Bay Area reports that the 49ers are hiring Shane Day as their new QBs coach, replacing Rich Scangarello.
Scangarello departed for the Broncos’ offensive coordinator job a few weeks ago.
Day, began his coaching career at the University of Michigan back in 2006 as their offensive quality control coach. The 49ers hired him a year as a quality control coach and he spent three years in San Francisco.
From there, Day worked for the Bears, UConn, and the Redskins before being hired as the Dolphins TEs coach for the 2016 season. He spent the past three years in Miami.
