The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday that they have promoted WR Steven Dunbar Jr. to their active roster.
Dunbar, 23, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the 49ers but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The 49ers re-signed Dunbar to their practice squad soon after.
During his college career at Houston, Dunbar caught 180 passes for 2,430 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 43 games.
