“There’s a path there,” Harbaugh said, via the Sacramento Bee. “Nobody owes anyone a career in professional football. Your career is literally your business. But I have great faith that [Lattimore has] what it takes.”
Lattimore, 22, sat out his rookie year while rehabilitating a major knee injury that he sustained in college, which included a torn MCL, PCL and dislocated kneecap. Lattimore is expected to compete for a job during training camp.
Before his knee injury, Lattimore was considered to be a first-round talent, despite playing running back. We’ll have to see how Lattimore’s knee holds up in the coming months.
