The 49ers announced that they have signed TE MarQueis Gray and OL Dakoda Shepley and cut G Kofi Amichia and TE Erik Swoope to make room.
The 49ers worked out Gray and Shepley along with three other players earlier this week. (NFLTR)
Gray, 30, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota back in 2013. He had brief stints with the Browns and Vikings before he was claimed off of waivers by the Bills in 2014.
After two years in Buffalo, Gray signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins and re-signed to a two-year deal back in 2016 and finished out his deal in March of last year.
Amichia, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Packers back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Packers’ practice squad.
Green Bay brought Amichia back on a futures contract only to release him at the start of the 2018 regular season. The Ravens later added him to their practice squad.
Baltimore brought Amichia back on a futures deal at the start of 2019 but was waived after a few months. Carolina signed him in May of last year but was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.
The 49ers signed him to their practice squad in December and re-signed him to a futures contract.
Amichia has yet to appear in an NFL game.
