Field Yates reports that the 49ers are signing LS Kyle Nelson to a four-year extension through 2022.
Yates notes that Nelson still has six games left to serve on a 10-game suspension from last year.
Nelson, 32, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico State back in 2011. He’s played for a number of teams over the years including the Chiefs, 49ers, Eagles, Chargers, Seahawks and Redskins.
San Francisco signed Nelson to a four-year, $3.48 million contract back in 2015 and he made a base salary of $975,000 for the 2018 season.
In 2018, Nelson appeared in 12 games for the 49ers.
