Ian Rapoport reports that the San Francisco 49ers are signing TE Erik Swoope to a contract.
Swoope, 28, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in 2014. He was on and off of the Colts’ practice squad for the early part of his career before he made the 53-man roster.
The Colts brought Swoope back on an exclusive rights contracts for the 2017 and 2018 season. He then had a brief stint with the Saints before returning to the Colts.
From there, Swoope joined the Raiders this past May, but was waived a few months later.
In 2018, Swoope appeared in seven games for the Colts and caught eight passes for 87 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
