According to Adam Caplan, the 49ers worked out four players on Tuesday including S Marcus Ball, DT Lars Koht, DE Mike Rose and S Vinnie Sunseri.

Ball, 29, signed as a free agent with the Argonauts back in February of 2012. He spent two years with the Argonauts and totaled  142 tackles, seven sacks, four interceptions, two returned for touchdowns and three fumble recoveries over this time.

New Orleans wound up signing him to a three-year contract in April of 2014 and Ball would go on to appear in 12 games and recorded 16 tackles for the Saints.

Ball later caught on with the Panthers last year but was, unfortunately, among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. He was on and off of the Panthers active roster this year before signing on to the Jaguars’ practice squad.

Jacksonville decided to waive Ball from their practice squad last week to make room for DB Doran Grant.

In 2016, Ball has been active for one game but has yet to record a statistic.
