Dan Graziano of ESPN is reporting that the 49ers are bringing in veteran OLB Elvis Dumervil for a workout in the coming days.
This is the first reported interest in Dumervil since he became available several months ago.
Dumervil, 33, is a former fourth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2006. He spent six years in Denver before signing a five-year, $26 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed with the Ravens.
Baltimore cut him loose this past March in a move that freed up $6 million of available cap space.
Unfortunately, Dumervil’s 2016 season was limited to just eight games, as he spent half of the year on the PUP list. In 2016, Dumervil appeared in eight games for the Ravens and recorded 11 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
