Adam Gase Confident WR DeVante Parker Won’t Be Traded

On Monday, Dolphins HC Adam Gase told reporters that he’s confident that WR DeVante Parker won’t be traded by tomorrow’s deadline, per Adam Beasley.

Last we heard regarding Parker, Armando Salguero reported that the Dolphins will not trade Parker unless they get “serious, serious compensation” for him.

Salguero says that while Parker has been the subject of trade talks in recent weeks, he is on “much better footing” with the Dolphins, who are currently dealing with a number of issues at receiver.

Tom Pelissero previously reported the Dolphins have told several teams who are interested in acquiring Parker that they will not trade him for anything less than a third-round draft pick.

Parker, 25, is a former first-round pick out of Louisville by the Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a four-year $ 10.876 million rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of $1,918,164 in 2018.

The Dolphins picked up Parker’s fifth-year option this offseason that will cost them $9,387,000 for the 2019 season. It’s worth mentioning that the fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury.

In 2018, Parker has been limited to appearing in just three games and catching eight passes for 174 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding a potential trade involving Parker as the news is available.
