AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Jets

According to Armando Salguero, Dolphins director of analytics Dennis Lock has left the team for a job as director of football research and strategy for the Bills.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald doesn’t expect the Dolphins to pursue Patriots DE Trey Flowers in free agency, as the team starts a rebuilding process.
According to Salguero, DE Cameron Wake, DE Robert Quinn, WR DeVante Parker and RB Frank Gore would all like to know what their status is with the Dolphins moving forward.
Salguero mentions that QB Ryan Tannehill, DE Andre Branch and G Josh Sitton believes they’ll be released this offseason.
Miami will likely release Quinn and Branch to save almost $20 million in cap space, according to Barry Jackson.
Jackson thinks there’s a good chance Wake signs elsewhere as well.
The Dolphins could also save $2.5 million with no dead money by releasing DT Akeem Spence.

Sources tell Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News that the Jets won’t break the bank to sign RB Le’Veon Bell in free agency.
According to Mehta, the Jets have some concerns about Bell’s motivation after landing a big payday, mileage and what kind of shape he’s currently in.
Mehta says the Jets should also make a run at signing DE Trey Flowers and C Mitch Morse next month.
Another player who should garner interest from the Jets, according to Mehta, is Broncos C Matt Paradis.
Mehta expects the Jets to use a second-round tender on WR Robby Anderson.
A source tells Mehta that the Jets are interested in re-signing DE Henry Anderson.
