AFC North Notes: Bengals, Browns, Ravens

Bengals

  • Bengals WR A.J. Green announced via his Instagram account that heโ€™s no longer sporting a walking boot for his toe injury: โ€œFirst day working out. Got the boot off, starting my morning off right.โ€œ

Browns

  • Jason La Canfora reports that the Browns signed RB Kareem Hunt to a
one-year contract for the veteran minimum that includes no guaranteed money.
  • If Hunt reaches the roster and workout bonus requirements, the Browns would top out at over $1 million.
  • Hunt is in line to be a restricted free agent in 2020.

Ravens

  • Jeff Zrebiec of the Athletic writes that Ravens RB Alex Collins is โ€œhardly a lockโ€ to receive even a low-round restricted tender this offseason.
  • While Zrebiec expects the Ravens to add one or two running backs this offseason, he says that unless Leโ€™Veon Bellโ€˜s market drops well below his reported asking price, itโ€™s unlikely heโ€™ll end up in Baltimore.
  • Zrebiec anticipates ILB C.J. Mosley securing a similar contract to the five-year, $62 million deal signed by Panthers ILB Luke Kuechly back in 2015. Zrebiec adds that Baltimore has prioritized re-signing Mosley and have their franchise tag if need be.
  • Should the Ravens release CB Jimmy Smith, Zrebiec believes he would have a decent market, which could mean he could decline to accept a pay cut to be back with the team for the 2019 season.
  • According to Zrebiec, the latest buzz about OLB Zaโ€™Darius Smith is that he should end up having a strong market and ultimately secure a huge contract this offseason.
