AFC North Notes: Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Bengals

Browns

New Browns DT Sheldon Richardson says he’s glad to have found a home in Cleveland after spending the pasts few seasons as an NFL journeyman.

โ€œThey wanted me,โ€ Richardson said, via Pro Football Talk. โ€œIt was more than one year. That definitely was one of my big, big things. I wanted to get off of the one-year deal thing. I wanted to find a home and make myself a dominant force in one organization and not just get passed around.โ€

Ravens

  • According to the Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, Ravens ST coach Jerry Rosburg has announced his retirement.
  • New Ravens RB Mark Ingram said playing in a run-first offense with QB Lamar Jackson played into his decision, “1000 percent.”  (Zrebiec)
  • According to S Earl Thomas, the Ravens weren’t initially on his radar as a free agent: “It was last minute.  I thought I was going somewhere else.  I’m very appreciative of the opportunity.”  (Jamison Hensley)
  • HC Jim Harbaugh says he was caught off guard by LB Terrell Suggs‘ departure: “I definitely didn’t see that one coming. It wasn’t about money for Sizz. When you talk to him about that, you understand. He had his personal reasons for it, and they’re very good reasons. They’re family-oriented.” (Hensley)

Steelers

  • According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, no new deal for Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is imminent as of Friday morning, but he called it a “fluid situation.”  Roethlisberger’s $5 million roster bonus kicked in on Friday.
