AFC Notes: Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Browns

Cleveland S Grant Delpit is ready to make an impact following an Achilles injury that sidelined him for his entire rookie season, reports Brian Dulik of the Associated Press.

It was good and bad at the same time because we were winning, but I wasn’t playing,” Delpit said Wednesday on a conference call. “I had to keep my mind very positive all the time because I could have easily been depressed if I thought about it.”

The former second-round pick was able to make plenty of mental reps during his time away from the field, which is something new and unfamiliar to him.

I got to sit back and see what goes on behind the scenes while I was rehabbing, and watch the games from a fan’s perspective, which I hadn’t done since I started playing,” Delpit said. “Seeing our success last season was something.”

Ravens

Ravens’ WR Marquise Brown says their offense is coming together and he expects them to score a lot of points this season.

We’ve been gelling good so far,” Brown said, via NFL.com. “We’re just going to try to complement each other the best we can, go out here and win a Super Bowl.”

“Our expectation is to score a lot of points. However we do that, with the least amount of passing attempts or with the most. We want to score as many points as we possibly can.”

  • Josina Anderson says that the Ravens like their current core of young receivers and that a trade for Falcons’ WR Julio Jones is not on the horizon for the franchise.
