AFC Notes: Chiefs, Dolphins, Jets

Chiefs

Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt told reporters after Sundayโ€™s game that they simply felt cutting RB Kareem Hunt was in the best interests of the franchise and the running back.

โ€œIt was a collective decision,โ€ said Hunt, via NFL.com. โ€œEveryone was on board with it. I donโ€™t think we were necessarily trying to make a statement, we just felt that the best thing for the Kansas City Chiefs moving forward was for us to part ways with Kareem.

โ€œWe were obviously shocked by the video, I think like anybody who saw it, and we had some issues with Kareem not being truthful about what had happened that night. We just really felt for everybodyโ€™s best interest, we needed to head in a different direction.โ€

Dolphins

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Dolphins CB Xavien Howard recently underwent arthroscopic surgery to trim a meniscus injury. Rapoport explains that this is a minor procedure and Howard hasnโ€™t been ruled out for Week 15 yet.

Jets

  • Rich Cimini of ESPN writes that the Jets could look to trade their first-round pick in 2019 to a team interested in moving up for a quarterback to pick up some more draft capital to work with.
  • If the Jets end up with the No. 1 overall pick, Cimini mentions Ohio State DE Nick Bosa as an obvious target for New York.
