AFC Notes: Colts, Raiders, Texans

Colts

Raiders

Despite his suspension being lifted, Raiders free agent LB Vontaze Burfict faces as uncertain a future as heโ€™s ever seen. His contract with the team is set to expire soon and itโ€™s unclear if heโ€™ll be back. While he made a strong impression on his coaches and teammates, his reputation as a dirty player caused him to be suspended for the final 12 games of 2019. He says heโ€™s trying to adapt his game and play again in 2020, ideally for the Raiders. But another hit and Burfict wonโ€™t have the benefit of the doubt to protect him from being booted permanently.

โ€œYou can tell how the years changed and the years evolved in football from Ray Lewis to Brian Urlacher to now,โ€ Burfict said via NFL Mediaโ€™s Tom Pelissero. โ€œYou watch Luke Kuechly, Lavonte David, me โ€” itโ€™s a totally different era, and watching how the eras have changed, youโ€™ve got to change with it.โ€

โ€œI just feel like I still have a long road ahead of me, Iโ€™m still young and a lot of things to prove,โ€ Burfict added. โ€œAnd I want to win a championship.โ€
