AFC Notes: Jaguars, Ravens, Steelers

Jaguars

Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette said Thursday that he’s “feel[s] a lot better” after missing Week 2’s game because of a hamstring injury.

“I feel a lot better,” Fournette said, via Michael DiRocco of ESPN. “Like way better.

Fournette returned to practice this week and was limited on both Wednesday and Thursday.

“It felt good out there,” Fournette said. “It’s getting back into a rhythm. We’ll see [about playing].

“It’s up to the coaches at this point. It’s still early in the season.”

Ravens

  • Ravens MLB C.J. Mosley returned to practice on Thursday just a week after he was cart off the field with a knee injury. (Jeff Zrebiec)
  • Ravens RB Alex Collins (illness) also returned to practice on Thursday. (Jamison Hensley)
  • Baltimore revised their injury report and added OLB Tim Williams, who didn’t practice because of an illness.

Steelers

Steelers WR Antonio Brown spoke with reporters on Thursday and addressed his recent “trade me” comment on Twitter as well as his decision to not show up for team meetings on Monday.

We were losing the game,” Brown said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “We haven’t won a game yet. I’m not on the sideline begging for the ball or making statements that you guys [say I] make. I’m pissed off. We’re losing. We suck.

“You guys don’t know me at all,” Brown added. “You guys just write what you think will get hits. Everyone in this locker room knows what I stand for, knows what I’m about. I’m committed to this program and this organization — I’m fully here. I go to work every day, about my business, and I don’t take it for granted. My business is winning here. I come here to win. We ain’t winning, you damn right I’m pissed off.

Regarding the “trade me” tweet, Brown explained that he was addressing someone who previously worked for the Steelers and he isn’t serious about wanting to be traded.

It was a guy who used to work here, a PR guy … taking a personal shot at me,” Brown said. “Obviously I don’t want to be traded. I’m still grateful to put on my uniform, grateful to be part of this organization. I don’t take it for granted. Obviously it was a stupid remark online. I just got to stay away from online and the distractions.”
