Broncos
- According to KUSA’s Mike Klis, the Lions were the only team to make an offer for Bronco’s CB Chris Harris, though it was less than a third-round pick.
- Per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Broncos QB Joe Flacco is seeking a second opinion on his neck injury. The initial read is Flacco will be out five to six weeks, surgery is unlikely and the injury shouldn’t threaten his career.
- New Broncos starting QB Brandon Allen said he feels “very comfortable” with the Broncos offense, adding its similar to the Rams offense he spent the preseason with: “It’s a very similar offense from what I came from. I feel very, very confident with the offense.” (Nicki Jhabvala)
- Broncos second-round rookie QB Drew Lock is still on injured reserve and working his way back, but he says when the team believes he’s ready, he’ll be ready: โIโll always be a confident guy. Whenever theyโre ready, Iโll be ready. Iโve been in NFL for 8 weeks. They know more about it than I do. They know more about timing and process to where I trust them. Theyโll get a confident guy whenever they call the number up.” (Mike Klis)
- Broncos LB Von Miller was never on the trading block and Harris was the only other Broncos player to draw interest. (Klis)
Chargers

Chiefs
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes made a shockingly quick return to practice only a week after dislocating his kneecap. While the team expects to have him back by next week’s game against the Titans, Mahomes is pushing to play as soon as possible, including this Sunday against the Vikings, though Chiefs HC Andy Reid said the medical staff will make the final determination.
โIsnโt that what you love about him?โ Reid said via Herbie Teope of the Kansas City Star. โI mean, he was telling me that he wanted to go back in when he hurt it the first time in the Denver game. So, thatโs him. Who wants to slow that down โ that thinking at least โ and then itโs important the medical people take care of it from there.โ
- Chiefs signed P Jack Fox to their practice squad.
- Chiefs released WR Cody Thompson from their practice squad.
