AFC West Notes: Broncos, Chargers, Raiders

Broncos

  • Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer believes Broncos LT Garett Bolles could be on his way out soon in Denver given the team has shown interest in offensive tackles this year.
  • Regarding recent trade rumors surrounding the Broncos, GM John Elway said he’s willing to trade up or down: “We’re preparing to go either direction.” (Mike Klis)
  • Elway acknowledged the Broncos will be looking for wide receiver help: “We do need a wideout. The good thing is it’s a deep class. We’ll see how it falls.” (Klis)
  • While Elway hedged somewhat about 2019 second-round QB Drew Lock, saying “by no means has Drew made it,” he added the team is bullish on Lock’s potential as the starter in 2020: “We decided we’re going to build around Drew and give him the opportunity to take the job.” (Nicki Jhabvala)
  • The Broncos are hopeful CB Bryce Callahan will be healthy enough to contribute in 2020: “We’re hopeful that things are coming along and he’ll be ready by the time we get to training camp.” (Jhabvala)
