Agent For Eagles G Evan Mathis Trying To Line Up A Trade Partner

Jim Corbett of USA Today reports that the agent for Eagles G Evan Mathis, Drew Rosenhaus, is in Arizona at the owners meetings looking to find a team fit for his client, who’s on the trading block right now.

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve heard anything pertaining to Mathis possibly being traded.

Previous reports had said that the Dolphins, Vikings, Bills and Saints could all be teams to watch for Mathis, but it’s hard to say whether any of these teams are still in the market to add a veteran guard at this point in the offseaosn.

Mathis, 33, still has another two years remaining on his five-year, $25 million contract that included $7 million guaranteed. He stands to make another $5.5 million in 2015 and another $6 million in 2016.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Maths would free up $4.5 million in available cap space while creating $2 million in dead money.

Last year, Mathis appeared in nine games for the Eagles after he dealt with an MCL injury. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 guard out of 78 qualifying players

We’ll have more regarding a potential Mathis’ trade as the news is available.
