Antoine Winfield Staying Retired Despite Interest From Seahawks

According to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports, veteran CB Antoine Winfield has decided to stay retired, despite the recent interest from the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle was reportedly trying in bring Winfield back after releasing him at the start of the regular season, which makes sense given that Brandon Browner was suspended for a second time just a few weeks ago.

The Seahawks elected to sign Perrish Cox for the time being, but Byron Maxwell and Jeremy Lane have done a pretty good job of mitigating the impact of losing Browner. Of course, it also helps to have Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas in your secondary.

Winfield, 36, was a three-time Pro Bowl selection who played his best years for the Minnesota Vikings. Despite his age, Winfield put together a heck of 2012 season and has had a very solid career in the NFL.
