Antonio Brown Says He Will No Longer Play In The NFL

Antonio Brown tweeted Sunday morning that he would no longer play in the NFL. 

Will not be playing in the @NFL anymore these owners can cancel deals do whatever they want at anytime we will see if the @NFLPA hold them accountable sad they can just void guarantees anytime going on 40m 2 months will see if they pay up !

Despite reported interest from other teams following his release from New England, this appears to put retirement on the table for Brown.

The receiver is frustrated by the $40 million in guarantees voided by the Raiders and Patriots so far this year following his exit from each team. 

Brown is also still undergoing investigation from the NFL relating to a number of alleged sexual assault incidents. 

Brown, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2010. He was in the third year of his five-year, $72.71 million contract when the Steelers traded him to the Raiders back in March. 

The Raiders later signed Brown to a new contract worth $50.125 million and includes $30.125 million guaranteed. However, Oakland made the decision to release Brown a few weeks ago and he later signed a one-year deal worth up to $15 million with the Patriots.

Brown lasted just 11 days in New England.  

In 2019, Brown appeared in one game for the Patriots and caught four passes for 56 yards receiving and one touchdown.
