According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Panthers are hosting Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham for a pre-draft visit on Wednesday.
Pelissero adds that Stidham has recently met with the Redskins and Giants.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Panthers have also met extensively with West Virginia QB Will Grier as they look for a backup behind starter Cam Newton.
Stidham, 22, came into his final season at Auburn as one of the top quarterback prospects and a possible first-round pick. However, he had a disappointing year that included declines in all of the major statistical categories.
As of now, the expectation is that Stidham will likely be a mid-round pick in the 2019 draft.
During his college career at Baylor and Auburn, Stidham completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 6,844 yards, 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions to go along with a quarterback rating of 147.6 over the course of three seasons and 36 games. He also rushed for 218 yards and nine touchdowns.
Grier has come up as someone to watch in terms of possibly being a late first or early second-round pick.
Grier actually began his college career at Florida before transferring to West Virginia in time for the 2017 season.
For his career, Grier threw for 8,556 while completing 65.7 percent of his passes to go along with 81 touchdowns and 23 interceptions over the course of three seasons and 28 games played.
