Bears, 49ers, Redskins & Raiders Some Teams To Watch For Allen Robinson If Available?

According to Ian Rapoport, Allen Robinson‘s recovery from an ACL tear is going well and he should be cleared at some point in the near future.

Rapoport reports that the Jaguars would like to bring Robinson back for the 2018 season and the real question is whether they’ll use their franchise tag on him at the cost of around $16 million.

Should Robinson end up testing the open market, Rapoport expects him to be one of the more coveted free agents this offseason. As long as everything checks out with Robinson’s knee, Rapoport says that the Bears, 49ers, Redskins and possibly the Raiders are likely to be among the teams in need of receiver help.

Regarding the Raiders, Rapoport points out that Greg Olson was the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator a few years ago when Robinson was having some success.

Earlier in the day,ย Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union mentioned during an appearance on the Ross Tucker Podcast” that it would be “shocking” if Robinson isn’t back in Jacksonville for the 2018 season.

“It would be shocking if Allen Robinson isn’t with the Jags next year,” O’Halloran said, per Tucker.

O’Halloran said that he believes Jacksonville will likely use their franchise tag on Robinson if they’re unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal in coming weeks.

Robinson, 24, is a former second-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft. He played out the final year of a four-year, $3.510 million rookie contract and made a base salary ofย $898,755 for the 2017 season.

Robinson is now in position to test the open market for the first time in hisย NFL career.

In 2017, Robinson appeared in one game and caught one pass for 17 yards and no touchdowns.
