Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Bears OT J’Marcus Webb has agreed to reduce his current base salary from $1.323 million to $630,000.
- Biggs adds that despite the pay cut, Webb is still not a lock to make the Bears 53-man roster.
- Webb can earn back all money thru play-time incentives.
Chicago was in need of some additional cap space to work with and it makes sense for them to approach Webb given that he was demoted to the second-team offensive line unit. Fifth-round draft pick Jordan Mills figures to start at right tackle for Chicago this season.
