The Bears released S Derrick Martin on Wednesday, according to the NFL transaction release.
- The Bears also claimed OT Michael Ola off of waivers from the Dolphins.
Chicago signed Martin to an exclusive rights deal back in February, but he unfortunately suffered a broken collarbone, which may have led to the team’s decision.
Martin, 28, appeared in seven games for the Bears last season, mainly as a special teams contributor. He did see playing time at safety in 2013 and contributed three tackles while five snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
