According to Turron Davenport, the Bears and S Marqui Christian have agreed to terms on a deal.
Christian visited with the Bears on Sunday for a physical and COVID-19 test. Davenport says the versatile defensive back could challenge to start at safety and should be an impact player on special teams.
It’s worth mentioning that Christian is suspended for the first two weeks of the regular season for an undisclosed violation from back in June.
Christian, 25, is a former fifth-round of the Cardinals back in 2016. Arizona waived Christian a few weeks into the 2016 regular season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Rams.
Christian played out the year of his four-year, $2.55 million contract. He agreed to a one-year deal worth $2 million for the 2020 season with the Jets this offseason. However, the deal later fell through.
In 2019, Christian appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 34 tackles, no interceptions and two passes defended. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 74 safety out of 86 qualifying players.
